When you prepare your waste for recycling, it is sorted, weighed and priced based on its usability and quality. At your workplace, you can even schedule a scrap metal service so that you can collect all your scrap metal and easily sort it for recycling.
Scrap metal dealers must report income from the sale of metal for recycling purposes on their annual tax return.
There are currently no tax incentives associated with reporting income from metal sales. You are technically taxed on scrap metal as part of your personal income tax.
